| In this day and age,
sustainability is a big part of landscaping. Not only do you want
your landscape to be a pleasure to look at, and functional, but it
also needs to be sustainable in its upkeep, maintenance and long
term longevity of your garden. |
| |
| If a landscape can be
planned to be in some ways self-supporting, low maintenance, it
means greater adaptability for the plants and less work for the
owners. It can also mean a cut in costs, both during construction
and long term. Native plants can be a very useful tool in planning
a new landscape to both create a low maintenance, drought friendly
and suitable garden. Being indigenous to our conditions they have
already adapted to Australia's weather patterns. |
| |
| Being qualified in Natural
Resource Management and having extensive knowledge of native plants
we can assist in creating a fully sustainable garden or ecosystem
for your landscape, big or small. |
| The various options we
have in using this method are- |
| |
- using native trees, shrubs, ground covers and grasses either
endemic to the local area or suitable in it's use to your
garden
- installing water storage systems within your yard for both
garden and lawn watering, or other household uses
- using reclaimed materials such as old timbers for walls,
features, seats etc rather than obtaining new manufactured
products
- designing your yard to suit local conditions, such as a dry
creek bed in a natural drainage channel, or using tough climbers to
colour your rocky embankment, and so on
