This tricky Greenvale
landscape project posed a few problems for planning, but the end
result came up with a very happy client. The area in which the work
was located had services located under ground, and was on a steep
site in wet weather during construction.
After careful planning
the job went through without a hitch
After excavation of the
embankment, large mudstone boulders were placed as the walls of the
staircase
The steps were formed up
and concrete foundations poured ready for paving. The lower wall
was constructed using granite spalls and a letterbox set into the
rock
Random
sized granite rocks used in the retaining wall
The steps were laid using
600 x 600mm sandstone pavers. Lights were also installed for access
lighting at night
Changes in levels and
directions in steps are always a bit tricky on steep sites but
worked quite well here
Gaps in rocks were filled
in with small pebbles, and some drought tolerant plants in small
number to surround
