This Epping residence
was a newly-finished home but landscaping was yet to be done. Being
like most western suburbs, the soil is dark volcanic clay and not
very user friendly. The clients wanted a low maintenance
entertaining area with access to all areas around the
house.
A
reinforced concrete slab foundation was laid to support the
paving and provide a very long-lasting area for the residents.
Drainage pits were
installed to take rainwater off the paving area. Clay large format
pavers were used, laid on a mortar bed and grouted with a
white grout for a clean light finish
The paving area
has become a large user-friendly area
A simple yet
effective step stone path was installed from the sideway to lead to
the front of the property, using the same pavers as the rest of the
job. This was surrounded in a tuscan stone to suit the area and
provide a low maintenance traffic area.
