This Donvale landscape
project called for a replacement paving area to be installed around
an existing swimming pool. The area and the house had been subject
to some renovations and after new concrete foundation were poured,
the new works could begin.
New concrete foundation
poured and perimeter paving being laid
The new sandstone paving
covering most of the project. This sandstone has a honed finish,
which makes for a smooth surface on which to walk on, yet not
slippery around the pool. The sandstone was sealed twice to
eliminate any salt or chlorine attack from the water.
A template was made to
cut the coping tiles around the swimming pool and spa to the exact
shape of the edge. This allows for a cleaner edge and less cuts,
which results in a much better looking job.
The paving was grouted
with a colour matched grout to suit the sandstone
The pool was renovated to
receive a new coat of coloured quartzon for the walls, and
waterline tiling to replace the older ones.
Pool safety fencing was
also added, with glass used nearest the house so as to not spoil
the view from the high use areas within the house
