This old Preston
Californian bungalow styled home has been subject to long term
renovations and amongst the few items left to complete the
renovation, was the landscaping. Keeping in with the theme, old red
brick paving which was common during the 1st half of the 1900's
suits the house perfectly in having a rustic yet solid
appearance.
Old concrete
paths and grass areas are high maintenance and don't serve the
renovation any justice.
Old areas are
totally ripped out before starting the landscaping again
The rear entertaining
area needed a solid area for entertaining and to tie the outdoor
retreat to the house
After excavation a
concrete base was poured to ensure a solid long lasting paving
foundation
The brick retaining wall
was constructed to provide a raised garden bed alongside the
entertaining area as well as serving to hide the concrete footings
of the shed
