This landscaping project in Eltham required
a new area to replace a pre-existing area that had seen its day. It
was decided to install decking over a slate crazy-paved area to
hide the old surface, bring the level up to a more user-friendly
entertaining area, and to provide more space for the
users.
150 x 150mm merbau decking
timbers were used in the deck construction. The existing stone
staircase was built over the timberwork also
Merbau posts and handrails
were also used to match the decking timbers
The previously small area
has now got a much larger usable area for entertaining
At the end of the area,
some feature planter boxes were installed, with a rendered finish,
and a backdrop of merbau screening. A central stackstone feature
wall was installed to break up the timber backing and provide a
backdrop for the entertaining area. Small LED lights were
installed into the decking to further enhance the area at
night
