Doncaster
This
Doncaster house had an outdoor entertaining area, but it was small
and un-level. The slope was directed into the house, and there were
steep steps to the spa which made access difficult.
The landscaping at this Doncaster house was to be redone to make it
more functional and safer for all users of the area.
All
of the existing pavers came up, along with the retaining wall. The
slope was excavated to make a flat entertaining area. The steep
side with the steps had a retaining wall constructed to hold the
height of the new built up area, which was filled and supported
with roadbase and concrete piers to hold the concrete slab
foundation for the paving. Drainage was installed behind to take
all surface water off the paving and direct it into stormwater
drains.
Paving
commenced after the concrete was suitable to pave on. A new
concrete block linkwall was constructed along the fence to retain
the slope from the neighbouring property, and to provide a backdrop
for the entertaining area.
StoneAge
500mm x 500mm pavers were used for the paving area. The area was
sealed to both protect the paving surface and to make cleaning
easier.
The new
paving area has been nearly doubled in size, with access and usable
space greatly improved.
The side
backyard area was cleaned and excavated for a bigger usable space.
A retaining wall levelled off 2 tiers to the yard, with steps
providing an easy commute between the two. Turf provides a suitable
area for use by kids to play on
