Reservoir
This job in Reservoir was quite a large
project, there was a lot of demolition and excavation that was
required to make way for the design. Basically a clean slate was
chosen in which to apply the new design.
The rear yard was a fair size, but was
constricted in space for use by 2 sheds, a bungalow, a pergola and
had aged pattern concrete as a paving surface. A new design was employed to
make use of the space, for both use by the kids and entertaining by
the residents.
Sheds and old building were removed,
unwanted and rotting trees taken out, and the area cleared and
excavated ready for the new construction works to begin.
A concrete foundation was laid to support a
new brick wall to surround the new entertaining area
The brick wall was constructed with 2nd hand
red bricks to match the surrounds and the house. A central brick
staircase led to a top level grass area
The area was then paved using the same
bricks in a herringbone pattern to suit.
Finished paving area
Grass was sprayed onto the prepared top area
using Hydroseeding methods for good seed establishment
The driveway next to the house had a
concrete base laid for paving but as yet had not been completed.
The area needed some paving to
tie the theme together, and to provide a visually pleasing entry
into the residence.
Old red bricks were also used for the
driveway, laid on mortar for a solid and long lasting
finish
Lilydale Toppings was added to the entry
into the top area to finish off the rear yard and to link the
driveway and rear areas together
