Ivanhoe
This Ivanhoe residence had a backyard that
had virtually remained untouched for quite a while- trees were
overgrown, agapanthus multiplied and the lawn turned to weeds.
Planned Landscape was employed to do a design and makeover the yard
for the enjoyment of the owners.

designs were done over the original before shots to give the client
an idea as to job completion
The backyard was cleared of unwanted trees,
weeds, and the playground and cubby were removed to make way for
the new design. The dry creek bed and pond were
excavated
A concrete foundation was laid for some
sandstone paving as a below-deck entertaining area
A sand base was laid for the pond area,
before a butyl rubber liner was installed, filled with recycled
water and rocks placed around the edge. A Universal rockwall water
feature is installed behind the pond as a backdrop and waterfall to
spill into the pond.
The pond was surrounded by river pebbles to
enhance appearance, and a dry creek bed was also lined with rocks
and pebbles to symbolize nature within the backyard.
A drip irrigation system was connected
to all garden beds, and pop up sprays for the instant turf lawn
area, all watering systems hooked up to a rainwater tank and fully
automatic electronic timer.
A vast array of plants chosen by both the client and Planned
Landscape were planted around the raised garden beds, followed by a
thick mulch layer.
Here a Dragon Tree provides a feature to the right side of the
garden
