The
residents of this property had a simple request. After having built
their new home they wanted a no-fuss, reliable and low maintenance
garden.
The work was planned with longevity and ease of maintenance in
mind.
The area was
removed of weeds and shaped for the required slopes of the yard. To
create some interest to an otherwise flat backyard, simple ideas
such as adding enlarged mounding's to garden beds can add more
character.
Garden beds were defined with
edging, and a sleeper wall was constructed along the fence line to
retain the change in level to the adjoining property. Hardy
Pittosporum's were planted as a low maintenance screen plant along
the fence.
A concrete foundation was laid for a stable base for the paving to
eliminate movement over the years.
Larger 480 x 480mm pavers
were laid over the concrete base to provide an effective, long
lasting and usable patio area
Drainage was added to
allow water to drain off the pavement area, and turf was laid with
a sand covering to allow more water retention and stabilisation of
the grass
